Pastors Intensives
The Pastors Intensive Series is a three-day Seminar dealing with many aspects of the practical side of church life and ministry, and also focuses on areas that enhance the development of the pastor’s personal life.
We run Series 1 and Series II, which are rotated annually but it doesn’t matter in which order they are completed.
They were developed to orientate those tracking to Ordination with the Australian Christian Churches but are now playing major role in providing refresher in-service training for our current ministers.
For those who currently hold a PMC it is now a National ACC requirement that the PMC holder complete at least one of the Series before Ordination (and strongly encouraged to do both).
While no requirement currently exists for OMC holders, it is highly recommended that such ministers complete these Intensives to maintain currency.

It will break current perceptions, address misinformation and encourage pastors to engage in partnership to see our First People reached with the Gospel and churches planted. Hear not only information, but also testimonies from Indigenous pastors and workers on their work and story.

Board Training All churches are required to have an operating Board.
This seminar allows issues relating to Church Boards and Governance to be discussed and addressed. It provides initial training for current and new Board members on their obligations, liabilities and practice. It explains basic church set up and structure and addresses proper Board behaviour.
Held generally in the evenings, it allows the Pastor to bring their Board and other team members for instruction and information on their role within the local church.
This is not a seminar to just send a representative as it has its greatest effect when the Pastor and their team participate together providing a basic format for team dialogue and discussion.

Emerging Leaders is one of the great initiatives to come out of our State and has been the impetus for many key young people progressing in leadership and ministry throughout Queensland.
The Australian Christian Churches are the envy of other movements because of our abundance of sharp, hot for God young leaders coming through the ranks. This has not been accidental. Each year more than 100 key young leaders gather for three days of leadership teaching and impartation. The feedback from both the participants and the pastors who send them is phenomenally positive.
How does it work
Pastors of local churches are encouraged to identify and invite young leaders in their churches to attend a 3 day intensive. Pastors are most welcome to attend with their young leaders. (Encouraged)!!
Currently these camps are run annually in both the north and south of the State.
Intended outcomes
* Opportunity for defining moment/s. Older leaders often call this a burning bush experience, referring to the meeting God had with Moses that undeniably convinced him of God's plan for his life. * Keys to effectiveness in serving their local Senior Pastor’s vision * Real life ‘Vital Keys’, from Senior Pastors, that will ensure longevity in their call and leadership for God * A place to initiate and build friendships with likeminded leaders that they will, more than likely, serve with over decades of time in the body of Christ in Australia and beyond.
Emerging Leaders is run by Senior Pastors. The learning environment is that of Fathers to sons, (generic/gender neutral term).

Total Access Mentoring
The “Total Access” Coaching and Mentoring Program is unique in that it attempts to lead the way in innovation for coaching and mentoring. The program is what could be described as ‘organization’ or ‘institutional’ mentoring, that involves not one on one mentoring, but a leader and the organization undertaking the coaching and mentoring. Ipswich Region Community Church as a whole has the vision to do this and is involved.
The components of the ‘Total Access program are as follows:
1. Monthly CDs, DVDs, articles, and other resources directly relating to the development of their leadership gift.
2. A book to read every 2nd month
3. The participants have access to Mark Edwards or any member of the team.
4. Once per year the mentoring group gets together for two days where there is face-to-face personal mentoring and coaching by not only by Mark Edwards, but by staff and other practitioners.
5. A preaching Clinic is also conducted to assist the participants in their ability to communicate and preach.
The cost of the program for individuals being $300 and an additional cost of $75 for the spouse. Costs are kept to a minimum so as many pastors can be included as possible.
Total Access receives expressions of interest for participation in the program through the year, with applications due in December. All applications are prayerfully considered, and places are offered early in the year, with the program commencing in February.
Please see below some comments regarding Total Access Mentoring:
"During 2008 I had the privilege of being a participant in the Mentoring Program run by Ps Mark Edwards. I found the experience to be encouraging and enriching. I was particularly grateful that I was required to read books that you don't find at the local Christian book store. Mark did a wonderful job of getting me to think 'outside the square'. I find it so easy to get consumed with what's going on in my own church. The Mentoring Program stimulated and enlarged my thinking while remaining very practical and related to issues that I face on a regular basis. If 'leaders are learners' then this Program has helped me to learn and, so, to lead." Murray Averill Nexus Church “I believe this mentoring course has been the best course Ross and I have undertaken for years. It has developed an appreciation for self development and self care in ministry. And has a refreshing approach to Body, Soul and Spirit care for a minister and wife. The reading material also gives a chance to learn and expand new skills in communication and practical help in preparing sermons.” Mary Davie Bayside Church
For enquiries about the program, please contact Ipswich Region Community Church and speak to the Senior Minister’s Program Co-Ordinator on 07 3288 0611 or email mark.edwards@ircc.org.au.
2nd Pillar Vision
In support of the Australian Christian Churches’ plan/commitment to build stronger churches and stronger leaders, we aim to support the Senior Pastor by strengthening and building the second pillar of our churches through experienced mentoring, training and education.
What is the 2nd Pillar
The ACC in Queensland and Northern Territory have developed 2nd Pillar to assist Church Administrators, Business and General Managers and those doing administration and management in their role within church life.
It offers forums, training sessions, resource information and connectivity in areas of management and business that can resource and serve those working in those areas within a local church setting.
As a new initiative of ACC Qld, it was developed to address the growing levels of responsibility placed on churches and their management team to meet the current secular expectations in all areas of legislation and business practice and it is focussing on awareness and skilling as its primary function.
The 2nd Pillar Objectives
1. Creation of strategic relationships and networks
2. Delivery of professional development
3. Establishment of open communication channels
4. Formulation of resources
5. To build strong lasting relationships that support and build each other in ministry.
