State Executive

This body is made up of seven ordained ministers including the President. All members must have been ordained for a minimum of two years. These members are elected by delegates at the State Conference and serve for at least two years.

Duties of this body include:

  • Issuing of State Credentials.

  • Recommending, to the National Executive, those who are eligible for full ordination.

  • Working with New Churches Queensland in the planting of new Churches.

  • Planning of State Conferences, Leadership Summits and Seminars.

  • Reviewing any disciplinary matters involving Ministers and/or Churches.

  • Management of finances of the State body.

  • Engaging the services of experts in matters relating to Government policy, legal and financial matters.

State President

Appointment to this role is via election by delegates at the State Conference. The person must have been ordained for a minimum of four years and be available to serve for at least a two year period.

His responsibilities include:

  • Representing the Movement between Conferences.

  • Chairing Executive Meetings and State Conferences.

  • Providing assistance to Churches requesting Executive advice or intervention.

  • Facilitating any required disciplinary action involving Ministers.

  • Liaising with Regional Leadership Teams.

We have in recent times launched new key initiatives. These include:

  • Young Guns This program gives focus to the call and character of our emerging Christian leaders. Our young men and women are being trained and encouraged via various means.

  • Bless the Bush Launched in 2002 - The Year of the Outback, we are asking city and coastal churches to continue to visit and support assemblies in rural and remote areas.

  • Pastors Intensive Practical training for our pastors (especially those desiring full ordination).

  • Chaplaincy This exciting new expression of ministry is growing in influence under the leadership of Robert Sheraton.

  • Indigenous Initiative.

The wording is:-

“Unto Assemblies of God in Australia (Queensland Conference) for the general charitable purposes thereof and I declare that the receipt of the person or persons authorised to receive monies on behalf of the said Assemblies of God in Australia (Queensland Conference) at the time of payment of any monies (or transfer or delivery of any property) hereunder by my trustee shall be to my trustee a full and sufficient discharge therefor and shall absolve my trustee from the necessity of seeing to the application thereof”.
