State Ministries

The size of our Movement (over 650 credentialed men and women in 277 churches in Queensland), and the huge geographical distances involved, present real challenges. We are committed to helping create a relationship based culture and a support network for those in ministry in this State.

Currently, a team of dedicated men and women assist in this ministry expression of championing the cause of the local church and strengthening the hand of its leaders. They include Ron and Annette Henry.

New Churches Queensland

Church planting is part of the DNA of our Fellowship. The Assemblies of God in Queensland has seen a net increase of 230 churches over the past 25 years and our current goal is to have 325 churches by Easter 2007 (as of February 2006 we have 297 churches).

Our primary goal is to establish a strong church for every 10,000 people in Queensland. Currently, the ratio is approximately 1:13,400. While we have churches in all major cities and towns in Queensland there is room for many more. We do not embrace a philosophy of one church per town but recognize the need to have multiple churches in our communities because it will take many churches to win a city for Christ. We are looking to plant more churches in regional centres like Cairns, Innisfail, Townsville, Palm Island, Home Hill, Mackay, Rockhampton, Bundaberg, Gladstone, Hervey Bay, Toowoomba, and Gympie as well as the major population areas such as the Sunshine Coast, Brisbane, Ipswich and the Gold Coast.

There are resources available for church planters as well as access to demographics for most of Queensland. A small fee is charged for the demographic research. For those wishing to receive a regular national church planting e-newsletter, log on to www.churchplanting.com.au and register you details. If you would like a free e-copy of our church planting manual or need information on the process to follow for commencing an AOG work in Queensland please contact:

This State is full of Childrens leaders who are reaching new levels and believing for great things. Training programs are run throughout the year for leaders and children alike. People are realising the importance of reaching a generation and are not held back by the cost.

Child Protection Policies:
The State Executive strongly recommends that churches implement both policies. We have attached suggested drafts to save you the time, effort and resources in preparing your own. Please click to peruse or download the attached files:-

Chaplaincy Australia

Chaplaincy Australia is a network of Pentecostal Chaplains that exists to endorse, train, resource and serve our members and those interested or just starting in community chaplaincy. With offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Adelaide & Nhulunbuy (NT) we represent 500 + members Australia-wide and have been present at every major national disaster during the past decade (including Granville Train Crash, Thredbo, Port Arthur, Innisfail Cyclone, Victorian Bushfires) and internationally at the Chinese earthquakes (Sichuan Province), Asian Tsunami (Sri-Lanka) and Samoan Tsunami (Oct 2009).

Many of our members are volunteers who work part-time serving a specific group of people. Typically this is within institutions such as hospitals, aged care facilities, boarding houses, schools, prisons, sporting clubs, universities and workplaces; however other members are working on the streets, in shopping centres or urban developments. Our philosophy is wherever there is a group of people and a Christian with a heart to serve them, there is potential for community chaplaincy to flourish.
